This is a reprocessing plant for spent nuclear fuel. The factory has a capacity to handle the annual spent fuel of 80 to 100 nuclear reactors (1700 tons). 95 % of the uranium shall be reclaimed and reused.
This EPR ™ reactor is the first Génération III+ reactor within the French nuclear fleet, and the 100th reactor commanded Areva. It is currently under construction and scheduled to begin operations in 2018. Flamanville 3 is part of a national program to renew the existing power plants in France by 2020. An emphasis has been placed on the environment and safety: there shall be no CO2 discharged into the atmosphere, and the installation of four parallel and separate layers of security has been planned for.
This project consists of the regeneration of the railway bridge at Resses, which is a part of the railway line of Culoz-Modane. It involves the replacement of the existing bridge decks which have shown numerous deficiencies during site visits. The new decks will, in turn, increase the load experienced by the foundation. As a result, both the central pile and the bridge abutments must be reinforced.
This renewable energy power station is located in the Negev desert in Israel. It is designed for a maximum capacity of 250 MW, or 2,5 % of the national power consumption of Israel. This station will drawn upon solar thermal energy, photovoltaic energy, and natural gas. Upon its inauguration, Ashalim Power Station will be 5th the largest station of its kind in the world. Operation is expected to begin in 2017.
Situated in Russia, the Yamal LNG project will provide worldwide access to the immense gas resources of the Russian Arctic. The project involves the drilling of more than 200 wells, the establishment of 3 LNG trains with a capacity of 5.5 million tons each, and the employment of 16 ice-breaker methane carriers with a capacity of 170,000 cubic meters each. The construction sites are located in China, the Philippines, and in Malaysia.
Situated 35 km from Oran, this project consists of a thermal power plant located in Boutlelis. This power plant will be equipped with 2 gas turbines in open cycle and will have a production capacity of 445 MW.
The Martin Linge offshore oil and gas site is located approximately 180 km west of Bergen, Norway, with a depth of 115 meters underwater. The Martin Linge project will consist of a furnace with cooling jacket and an FPSO system for product transport. The wells will be drilled by a mobile jack-up, and the installation will be fed from the shore.
The OL3 project is the initial construction of a generation III+ EPR reactor on the Olkiluoto site. Its net power output is 1600 MW. This project involves the use of innovative new technologies, sustainable development, and the prioritization of safety.
The Kaombo project is an offshore site located approximately 250 km off the coast of Angola.
This project consists of the installation of two FPSO units. The scope of the project includes the conversion of two tankers for use as FPSO vessels, as well as their introduction into service and ongoing maintenance.
The completion date is scheduled for 2017.
The Egina project involves the underwater installation of an FPSO unit. The project is located 130 km offshore, at a depth of 1,750 m.
It is based on an underwater production system connected to an FPSO vessel designed to handle a production rate of 200,000 barrels/day and store 2.3 million barrels.
The project scope includes the installation of an FPSO unit, as well as all the underwater pipelines, risers, and cords.
With a length of 488m and a width of 74m, this FLNG unit will be anchored in the middle of the sea 200km off the northwestern Australian coast and at a depth of 240m. Prelude will produce natural gas from the offshore hydrocarbon fields, and the product will be directly liquefied on-board via cooling. This liquefied natural gas (LNG) will be transported aboard specialized ships.
Areva is building two EPR reactors in Taishan, Guangdong province, in China. To date, this project is the largest commercial contract ever signed in the history of the civil nuclear industry.
